Barn Farm Drinks celebrates winning three Great Taste Awards
6/08/2019 - Barn Farm Drinks
Manningtree-based fruit juice brand, Barn Farm Drinks, is celebrating after three of its products won awards from the what is considered to be the Oscars of the food and drink world. They are the only Essex producer to receive stars in any of the Soft Drinks categories.
Their cloudy Strawberry & Apple, cloudy Blackberry & Apple and clear Raspberry & Apple juices have all been awarded a one-star Great Taste Award.
Judges praised the juices, describing the Strawberry & Apple as “innovative” and “gently sweet but very refreshing with well-balanced acidity and overall deliciousness”.
Commenting on the Blackberry & Apple juice, the judges said it was “fresh and lively – both fruits are left to shine, perfectly balanced in flavour and not too sweet”. Meanwhile the clear Raspberry & Apple juice was described as “crystal clear and vibrant with a perfect pink blush hue” and “refreshing on the nose and palette, with clear notes of fresh raspberry”.
The recognition comes just a couple of weeks after the brand was shortlisted for a Great British Food Award for their clear Raspberry & Apple juice.
Barn Farm Drinks founder, Craig Williamson, said: “To be awarded a Great Taste star for just one of our juices would have been great, but for three of the range to receive stars is truly amazing.
“We launched Barn Farm Drinks less than two years ago and we have come so far in a relatively short space of time. Our juices are available in almost 200 locations across Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk and with these award wins and recent award shortlisting, we’re starting to get recognised nationally too.”
Barn Farm Drinks are pressed, blended and bottled in Bradfield, just outside of Manningtree. They are made using berries which are grown directly at Barn Farm, or sourced locally from other Red Tractor assured producers.
Barn Farm Drinks juices are widely available across East Anglia, including in East of England Co-op and Chelmsford Star Co-op stores, as well as a number of farm shops, delis, cafés and pubs.
