£70,000 boost for Essex charities
21/02/2023 - Provide Community
Three charities are set to share a bumper funding pot of £70,000 in a new year bonus from Essex-based social enterprise Provide Community.
The three charities sharing the £70,000 are Essex Dementia Care (£30,000), Home-Start Essex (£20,000) and Families in Focus Essex (£20,000).
As an employee-owned enterprise, Provide Community’s workforce of over 1200 colleagues can nominate causes and charities to benefit from funding and donation initiatives. In the last eleven years, the organisation, which delivers more than 50 health and social care services in NHS and community settings across the UK has donated more than £3.5 million to charities and community groups.
Chair of Provide Community Council of Governors, Nicola Yarnall said: “As the Chair of the Council of Governors, representing our members, I am delighted that we are able to support these three amazing charities.
“We asked our members to vote for charities they felt would benefit from a donation, and we awarded the top three. We are really looking forward to catching up with the charities later in the year to see how the donation has helped them and the people they support.
“Our ethos behind the donations we make is to support people to live well and stay well, which will hopefully, in turn, reduce the demands on health and social care services.”
