EACH : Whole day of care and support payed for by Taylor Wimpey
8/07/2019 - EACH
On Friday Taylor Wimpey payed for a day of care and support from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) across the region, having raised a fantastic £20,952 last year.
It costs EACH £16,800 a day to run EACH’S vital service and staff from the housebuilder in East Anglia have smashed that total by organising cake sales, dress-down days and their annual golf day at Stoke by Nayland. The company also sponsored an EACH Colour Dash.
This year’s golf day is happening today and EACH Trustee Brad McLean is visiting to present a special award.
Brad said: “EACH needs a huge amount of voluntary donations to keep doing what it does. I have first-hand experience of how important the service is, so I can assure that the ongoing support of companies like this couldn’t be more appreciated. Taylor Wimpey’s actually raised almost £50,000 for EACH since 2015 and I really hope it’ll continue this brilliant level of support long into the future.”
Next month, the team at The Treehouse, EACH’s hospice in Ipswich, are looking forward to welcoming a group of Taylor Wimpey volunteers, who will be helping out for a day with tasks such as gardening, painting and cleaning.
Taylor Wimpey’s fundraising support of EACH has continued into 2019 and staff hope to raise the same amount again. The company recently sponsored EACH’s new mud run and obstacle course, the Piglet, Junior Hog.
Hayden Dolby, Taylor Wimpey East Anglia Managing Director, said: “EACH is such a special charity and very close to our hearts at Taylor Wimpey. It provides a lifeline to children, parents and carers at an unimaginably difficult time. Our work across East Anglia brings us into contact with many families who may one day benefit from the care and compassion shown by the charity’s staff and volunteers. It’s great to know our donation is helping the charity continue its fantastic care and support of families across East Anglia.”
