Vine Schools Trust Elects New Chair of the Board of Trustees

VINE SCHOOLS TRUST, the Christian multi-academy trust (MAT) established by the Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Education, has announced the appointment of Mike Ferguson as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees following the end of outgoing Chair Tim Rose’s tenure.

The Vine Schools Trust encompasses 23 Essex-based primary schools, responsible for the education of more than 4,600 children across the county.

Business psychologist Mike brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He originally qualified as a chartered electrical engineer before moving into people development, with a focus on management and leadership.

He is currently director of development at Developing Professionals International and leads programmes for organisations such as the Academy for Chief Executives, whilst also co-presenting the Confident Leader programme for the NHS.

Vine Schools Trust CEO Emma Wigmore, who led the selection process for the new Chair, commented:

“The entire Board joins me in thanking our outgoing Chair Tim Rose for his hard work and significant contribution to the Vine Schools Trust. We are confident that Mike will do a wonderful job as our new Chair, and we look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Mike Ferguson, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“I am excited to be joining the Vine Schools Trust at this time. During my tenure I hope to bring out the best of the enormous amount of talent that we have across the Trust. We are ultimately a family, and I would like to ensure that everyone within the Vine Schools Trust feels valued.”
