Revitalise joins forces with Independence Support to help disabled people

Revitalise, respite holidays for disabled people and their carers, have announced a new partnership with national organisation Independence Support (ISL), who offer help to disabled people, those with mental health issues and older people.

ISL are passionate about working with people and communities to bring opportunities to life and enable everyone to reach their full potential. Through their partnership with Revitalise, ISL hope to spread the word about Revitalise holidays and raise funds to ensure that every disabled person has access to a vital break. For more information on ISL and the important work they do, please visit their website.

ISL are aiming to help drive Revitalise’s new Invisible Accessibility Project, which aims to raise the bar for what accessible en-suite bedrooms should look like: beautiful and luxurious suites that create a world of relaxation, combined with the accessible features required to suit a range of disabilities.

With the help of funds from ISL and other partners, Revitalise hope to be able to provide guests with state of the art, invisibly accessible bedrooms in the near future.

These are obviously difficult times, however both ISL and Revitalise refuse to accept excuses, we will be pushing forward together to not only give continuity but push boundaries and present options to ensure there are also exciting times ahead.

During the current COVID-19 crisis, Revitalise have been offering their facilities, care and nursing teams at their recently refurbished Revitalise Jubilee Lodge centre in Essex and Netley Waterside House in Hampshire to support local NHS hospitals, welcoming patients not suffering from the COVID-19 virus in order to free up beds for patients who are, relieving pressure on the NHS and ensuring availability of space for more critical patients.

Revitalise Netley Waterside House in Southampton and Revitalise Sandpipers in Merseyside have also continued to support disabled people during the pandemic, welcoming guests for urgent care-supported respite. Over the coming months of this year, they are offering respite stays and breaks with adapted activities and entertainment, depending on the up to date government guidelines at the time.
