Chelmer Wanderers don their Rainbow Laces

Despite their best efforts ‘Chelmer Wanderers’ lost their Pope and Smith Division 2 match on Sunday. Opponents ‘City Supporters’ player Palmer Stubbings took the only goal of the game to finish 1-0. Despite the disappointing scoreline the match was a great opportunity for the Wanderers to take part in Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces initiative and the whole team donned their own ‘Rainbow Laces’ to support the campaign.

4 in 10 LGBT people don’t think sport is welcoming and the Rainbow Laces campaign aims to use the power of team work to bring people together and make sport everyone’s game.

Further information about the initiative can be found here.
