Christmas comes to Colchester on 1st December

A whole day of Christmas is planned for Colchester on Sunday 1st December when visitors can find their festive spirit at various locations around the town.

The fun starts at 10am with the Minories Christmas Market showcasing over 45 stalls from artists and makers. From 11am Trinity Street, South Lanes and Lion Walk markets will commence as the independent stores take over the streets with their unique offerings.

Culver Square is offering a day of entertainment and music including Colchester Military Wives Choir and The Bombshells. Special guests Elsa and Anna will be switching on the square lights at 5pm.

From 2.30pm The High Street will become a hive of activity with Salsa groups, singers, bubble balloons, stilt walkers and cast members from The Mercury Theatre production of ‘Cinderella’.

The day finishes at 5pm when Santa arrives in the town and the lights are switched on.

With so much going on the organisers have launched a website dedicated to Christmas in Colchester with detailed information and a timetable of events.
