Soft Launch Success for Social Enterprise

Soft Launch Success for Social Enterprise

After months of planning and a million-pound renovation, Level Best Enterprises welcomed local artists, business owners, and stakeholders to an exclusive soft launch event on Friday night.

The building, once a former butcher’s, was unveiled to an exclusive guest list of local creatives, business owners and the Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester during a drinks reception soft launch event. The vacant building, which long-serving butcher Jack Warnes had presided over for 25 years, underwent a transformative renovation after bosses at The Dacon Trust purchased the building.

Level Best Enterprises, founded by the Dacon Trust in the 1970s, provides high-quality training specifically designed to inspire, encourage, and boost the confidence levels of people with additional needs. Staff at Level Best encourage trainees to make, bake and create through one of four business projects; Art, Café, Seasonal and Gardening.

Delivering over 110 sessions a week to over 60 trainees, the new building boasts a state-of-the-art kitchen, a large art studio and workshop space for trainees to unleash their creativity, and an art gallery space available for local artists to rent and display exhibitions.

The launch saw a tour of the newly renovated space, a charitable donation from The Arts Society Northeast Essex and Anglia Community Trust, and a welcome speech from Level Best Manager, Alison Ling, who has been with the social enterprise for over ten years.

Commenting on the success of the event Alison said, “Thank you to all that attended the soft launch event, it was incredible to see so many people supporting Level Best. The opening of our new building marks the start of a brand-new adventure, and we’re incredibly excited to open to the public and start welcoming the people of Colchester.

“Level Best Enterprises is passionate about providing high-quality training and opportunities which is why our trainees have always been at the heart of what we do. This new building will not only allow us to provide for more trainees but for the whole of Colchester.”

Level Best Enterprises is open to the public from Monday 17th April and serves affordable homemade food and beverages through Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4 pm. Find out more about Level Best and the service it offers at www.levelbestenterprises.co.uk
