West Lodge Park Hotel announces opening of historic rooms

The historic North London hotel, West Lodge Park, has announced that the latest round of construction to connect two rooms at the property is now complete. This means guests can book the finest suite of banqueting rooms in North London for special occasions and events of all kinds.

This extensive project sees West Lodge Park’s John Evelyn and King Charles Rooms finally connected together via two sets of grand double doors. With space for 100 seated guests, the doors are now well and truly open for meetings, celebrations and conferences at the iconic North London hotel.

These rooms are absolutely steeped in history. Guests will find themselves surrounded by lovingly restored period features, such as a fine gold leaf egg and dart cornice, chandeliers, and original 17th century portraits by Britain’s first professional female painter, the family run hotel’s own Mary Beale. And with high sash windows revealing the incredible vista of the 35-acre grounds, guests will also enjoy an incredible natural backdrop to the day’s – and night’s – events.

As owner and Managing Director Andrew Beale explains:

“We are excited to finally offer this huge and elegant space to guests in one complete package. We’ve taken a lot of care to create a grand entrance, quite literally, between these two rooms. One that fits in seamlessly with the incredible heritage and history we have here. When you book these rooms, you can look forward to next level service, luxury and style for all your guests.”

The John Evelyn room is named after a notable diarist, arborist and friend of both Samuel Pepys and Sir Christopher Wren. During his 1676 stay, he described West Lodge Park as ‘a very pretty place, the house commodious, the gardens handsome, and our entertainment very free.’  When you book this suite as a venue for your event, you’ll discover his words are truer now than ever before.
